Geo Adventure: Geo Guy Land, released in Europe and Australia as Geo Adventure: Island Revenge and in Japan as Geo Adventure: Boko Boko Bōken (ジオアドベンチャー:ボコボコ冒険 Jioadobenchā: Bokoboko bōken, lit. "Geo Adventure: Bashed Adventure"), is a platform game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft (Konami in Japan) for PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PlayStation Portable in 2008 (2009 in Japan).

The game's story follows that of Geo Adventure: Gree Guy's Returns, and focuses on Geo Guy, the main character of Geo Adventure, as he journeys while he got thrown out of Geo Guy Land by Gree Guy and Arthur Timothy Read.

DevelopmentEdit

Development on Geo Adventure: Geo Guy Land began immediately after the release of the 2002 game Geo Adventure: Gree Guy's Returns. Development of the final version accelerated in April 2007, when the game began to take form.

Geo Adventure's long development caused the game to frequently appear and then disappear from upcoming game lists. On April 16, 2003, the Geo Adventure game appeared on a list of upcoming PlayStation 2 games, named Gree Guy's Returns 2, set for release in 2005. The December 2004 issue of Official PlayStation Magazine claimed that a Geo Adventure game was not in development. On March 8, 2007, Ubisoft confirmed that a Geo Adventure title was still in the making.

At E3 2008, the game was demonstrated in playable form under the tentative title Geo Adventure Mega. The game was later renamed Geo Adventure: Geo Guy Land in North America and Geo Adventure: Island Revenge in Europe, and Geo Adventure: Boko Boko Bōken in Japan.

TriviaEdit

  • The long development of the game, which took 6 years, was referenced in the very beginning of the game, saying "The following game follows the events which happened recently in a world really, really, really far away." This also references Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope's opening text, since the production of the movie also took 6 years of production, from "after the release of THX-1138 (when the idea came up)" to the actual release.
